Fit to Fly

Fit to fly requests

As a practice, we follow the Civil Aviation Authority guidelines (a national standard) on fitness to fly.

Therefore, we are unable to provide Fit to Fly letters.

The BMA advises that there is no statutory requirement for GPs to complete Fit to Fly airline forms for patients, as it is up to GPs to decide if they are willing to accept the clinical risk associated.

If pregnant we must advise you refer back to your chosen airlines terms and conditions for flying. Alternatively, you can speak to your midwife for more guidance.

The GP follows CAA guidelines..
